For the second time in two years, the Texans have lost a teammate due to a serious neck injury. Against the Denver Broncos on Friday night, wide receiver Harry Williams collided with teammate Nick Ferguson and suffered a fracture of his C-3 vertebra. He was initially paralyzed on the field. It brought back memories to teammates, who underwent a similar situation during the regular season last year. Defensive lineman Cedric Killings fractured his C-4 vertebra during a play against the Indianapolis Colts and was initially paralyzed. Killings regained all of his movement, but was forced to retire early from the sport. Williams underwent surgery Sunday afternoon in Dallas and is expected to also be able to walk again—a feat no one is taking lightly. "It put...

Injured Houston Texans receiver Harry Williams will have surgery Sunday to repair a neck vertebra he fractured during a preseason game Friday night. The 26-year-old Williams was hurt early in the Texans' 23-22 loss to the Cowboys when he collided with teammate Nick Ferguson while covering a kick return.
