Parcells considering Falcons' offer - (12/19)

Bill Parcells is on the verge of accepting Arthur Blank's offer to take over all football operations for the Atlanta Falcons, the New York Daily News reported on Wednesday.

Parcells has playoffs touch - (12/19)

The numbers show why Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank wants Bill Parcells to run his football operations: he has inherited four teams with losing records and had every one of them in the playoffs in two years or less. Each had a losing record the year before he took over. All were in the playoffs by year two. At his last stop, Dallas, he had them in the playoffs his first year.

Please say yes Bill - (12/19)

Finally a bright spot in Falcons news. It’s good to see Arthur Blank addressing what has been a glaring problem. I guess since we can’t get Cowher, Parcells is the next best thing to instill some discipline in this team....

Falcons, NFC South shut out of Pro Bowl - (12/18)

It’s no surprise that the Falcons did not have one player named to the Pro Bowl today, but the entire NFC South was shut out. Not one player from Tampa Bay, Carolina, Atlanta or New Orleans was chosen for the...

    A massive reclamation project - (12/17)

The final two weeks of these Falcons as we know them can best be described as a death march. Players can’t wait to get away from this mess. Coaches know they will probably be let go after Bobby Petrino left...

Fourteen down, two to go - (12/16)

Tampa — Same old story for the Falcons. Minus Bobby Petrino, the Falcons were beaten soundly by Tampa Bay, 37-3, Sunday. The Falcons were haunted by turnovers — two interceptions and two fumbles. They were haunted by penalties — costly...

    Make it stop - (12/16)

All I want for Christmas is a somewhat respectable NFL team. I thought the guys would show up this weekend after the crazy week they’ve had. Thought they’d want to show Petrino something, but maybe they don’t have anything to...

    What's the rallying point now? - (12/11)

What now? There are three games left to this woeful season and, based on Monday night’s less-than-heartfelt effort in a 34-14 loss to the Saints, it’s impossible not to wonder if the Falcons (3-10) are even going to finish the...

    Bring on Cowher - (12/11)

Forget these college kids, we need a coach who has NFL experience and is a winner. Look no farther than Bill Cowher. He would earn instant respect with folks like D-Hall, Crumpler, etc. Bobby Petrino never was a Falcon. I’m...

Vick hurts Falcons now and later - (12/10)

Falcons embarrassed on MNF - (12/10)

The Falcons spend a lot of time discussing the allowance of “explosive plays,” which are plays where the opposition gains more than 15 yards. The emphasis on limiting such big hits has been driven home even more this week because...

No word on Redman, but he looks like the guy - (12/05)

The Falcons have been off the past two days, so there has been no official word as to whether Chris Redman will be named the starting quarterback. However, all indications are pointing that way. This could be another interesting development...

Redman could be the next option - (12/03)

Falcons coach Bobby Petrino didn’t want to comment on who the team’s starting quarterback will be when it plays host to the Saints Monday night because players were given the day off following their 28-16 loss at St. Louis Sunday....

    No chance to finish .500 - (12/02)

St. Louis — Another poor performance by the Falcons Sunday, although they made it interesting, culminated in a loss to St. Louis. The three-win Falcons fell behind quickly and couldn’t beat the Rams, who got their third win. How bad...

    So close to a comeback - (12/02)

The defense gave the Falcons a chance to win in the second half. Redman had plenty of time to drive down the field for the winning score, but inexperience hurt. Glad Redman came in and played well. He gave the...
